Jaycee Creed
"That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life; That the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations; That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise; That government should be of laws rather than of men; That earth's great treasure lies in human personality; And that service to humanity is the best work of life."

Membership
The Membership Portfolio of the Mt. Airy Jaycees provides the "glue" to our organization, providing programming and services to the members. Without the enthusiastic members of the Mt. Airy Jaycees, we would not be able to provide the Mt. Airy Community with many of our current programs and projects. These projects are planned, coordinated and run by motivated individuals between the ages of 21 and 40. The Membership Area is lead by the Membership Vice-President. Get involved in the "Best Young Persons Organization in Mt. Airy!"
Why Jaycees?
We are here to help you reach your goals in life. Haven't set goals? We will show you how. You will surprise yourself with the things you will accomplish as a member. By becoming a member of the best young person's organization in Mt. Airy, you become a part of a diverse chapter, which includes people with similar interests as you as well as some from different backgrounds and occupations. By networking through the chapter you will make friends and connections that will last a lifetime.
Service to the Community
Very few organizations can claim to do as much for their community as the Mt. Airy Jaycees. We sponsor and/or participate in many events that you may not be aware of in the Mt. Airy Community. These projects benefit under-privileged children, the elderly, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Mt. Airy Net with the Boy Scouts and Little League Baseball, Habitat for Humanity, and the Salvation Army, and many other worthy causes.
Requirements of Members
Unlike many community service organizations, The Mt. Airy Jaycees do not require members to attend any particular number of events or meetings. We realize that many young people have busy schedules filled with additional responsibilities. We encourage member participation in all of our projects and programs. The Jaycees emphasize that the ultimate personal growth and achievements comes from increased involvement. Note: Most members agree that their "return" greatly exceeds the time and skills put towards the organization.
Benefits of Membership
The Mt. Airy Jaycees provide men and women, 21-40, opportunities to develop business networks, meet new friends, obtain leadership training, strengthen personal skills, and serve the community while having a lot of FUN in the process! All of these benefits are provided through the projects and programs offered by the Jaycees. In addition to a multitude of community service projects, the chapter sponsors many events solely for the benefit and enjoyment of the members, including, Membership Socials, Picnic (Family) Socials, Progressive Dinners, Crab Feast, Holiday Parties, a variety of outings (including camping and tours), and professional development seminars.
Business Networking
Whether you are about to graduate, just beginning your career or are well established, you will make valuable contacts in the Jaycees that can only improve your business.
Resume Building
Your membership and activity in the Jaycees will stand out on your resume and will display to prospective employers that you are not an individual who is satisfied with mediocrity.
Meeting Date and Time
The Mt. Airy Junior Chamber of Commerce meetings are held at 7:30 PM on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the VFW building. Guests are always welcomed to attend!
Cost of Memebership?
Dues for the Mt. Airy Jaycees are $25 per year with early payment discounts available in subsequent years. This cost is very reasonable considering the benefits you will receive over the years. The dues contribute to the operation of the local, state and national organization.
Many current leaders and businessmen attribute their success to the leadership training obtained through their membership in the Jaycees. Please join us at one of our meetings or projects to find out where they honed their skills.
